Scholarships and Bursaries

New Students:

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for awarding entrance scholarships for students entering Dalhousie into first-year Engineering from high school and for some in-course scholarships.  No application is required for these awards as students are automatically considered.

Please visit http://www.registrar.dal.ca/scholar
for more information and consult the Awards section of the university calendar at http://www.registrar.dal.ca/calendar/ug_awards/AWRD.htm.

Students are also invited to apply to the Dalhousie Bursary Program.  Information is available online at www.registrar.dal.ca/bursary.

In addition to those awards offered through the Registrar's Office, the Faculty of Engineering is also pleased to offer scholarships to outstanding students, and bursaries to students with financial need.

Diploma of Engineering Students:

Several awards are available to Dalhousie Diploma of Engineering students during their first two years of study.  Applications are required for bursaries and also for the John R. Kaye Memorial Scholarship and the A. David Blair Scholarship.  The  Nova Scotia Power Centennial Scholarship deadline is January 31.  Students may consult the Awards section of the university calendar where other awards that do not require and application form are listed.

Annual Faculty of Engineering Scholarship Competitions:

There are two annual Faculty competitions, Year-Three Entrance and In-Course Scholarships. They are identifiable by their deadlines, and require students to complete a generic application form.  Note: Students cannot apply for a Year-Three Entrance award and an In-Course award in the same academic year.

All of the Faculty awards outlined below are listed in the Dalhousie undergraduate calendar under In-Course Scholarships, Faculty of Engineering.  These awards are subject to annual review and often exceed the posted amounts.
